The snow is immaculate, the light is flattering and nobody appears to be worrying about the last train home. Armani Beauty’s holiday pictures understand the appeal of a winter escape. Dark collars frame luminous faces; a red mouth supplies the little shock of warmth. The scenery is doing plenty of persuasive work, but the makeup has a useful idea of its own.
The campaign takes its cue from Armani Neve, the fashion house’s mountain collection, and features makeup ambassadors Vittoria Ceretti and Madisin Rian. L’Oréal Japan announced the holiday collection on 21 October, with a Japanese release dated 6 November. Neither date establishes a British launch timetable. What is already available to look at is the brand’s pair of distinctly different beauty proposals.
Winter Glow brings a bright red lip together with softly defined eyes and a flushed-looking complexion. Its published look sheet names Lip Maestro 405 and several Eye Tint shades. Winter Escape moves towards a deep red-brown mouth, with light catching the skin and a more reflective eye. The two portraits make the distinction more useful than another instruction to become “festive”. They give the colour somewhere to go.
The warm red is the interruption: it cuts through the pale backdrop and makes the rest of the face feel considered. The darker lip works differently. It sits closer to the depth of the clothes, so the highlights around the eyes and cheekbones become more noticeable. These are observations about campaign pictures, not promises that either combination will reproduce itself on every face.
That is why the interesting thing to borrow is the relationship between the colours. You may like the bright lip and want a quieter eye. You may prefer the red-brown mouth with a little reflective shadow. Neither choice requires the foundation shades, every eye colour or the complete set of products used for a model’s photograph. A look sheet records one finished look; it need not become a compulsory shopping list.
There is a practical distinction inside that eye makeup, too. Eye Tint is a liquid eyeshadow. Armani’s UK application guidance suggests one layer for a soft wash of colour, then blending and layering shades and finishes for more intensity. That is a useful way to think about a festive eye: decide how much colour and reflection you want before deciding how many products might deliver it. The instructions describe an approach, not our experience of using the formula.
Start with the feature that attracted you. If it was the red mouth, try the red you already own with the rest of your usual makeup. If it was the light around the eyes, look at the shimmer shades you actually use. Changing one relationship can be more revealing than adding another three objects to the dressing table. There is pleasure in a new colour, but no obligation to replace everything that surrounds it.
The seasonal gift collection is a separate proposition. On our 3 November check, Selfridges listed the Advent Calendar 2026 Luxury Set from £270 and marked it out of stock. Its breakdown is nine full-size products, fourteen miniatures and a black mirror, rather than twenty-four cosmetics. That is context for the collection, not a suggestion that a calendar is needed to wear either look or a claim about stock at every counter.
We have not tested these products. A campaign portrait can show the intended balance of colour and shine; it cannot settle how a lipstick feels after several hours, how a shadow blends on your eyelid or which foundation shade belongs on your skin. The sensible next step is to see the finish and colour on yourself, rather than treat a beautiful photograph as the result you have bought.
A good beauty campaign can still be enjoyed as an image. Here, the snow, dark clothes and flashes of colour make a convincing little winter world. You can admire the whole scene and take away only one idea. The red lip does not come with a requirement to book the mountain holiday.
UK listing and displayed availability checked 3 November 2026. Campaign coverage and editorial interpretation, not a product test. The Japanese 6 November release date is not a verified UK launch date.
