There is something rather appealing about a perfume that makes its intentions this clear. KAYALI’s Yum Vanilla Cupcake | 108 is heading straight for the birthday cake, complete with frosting, sprinkles and a bottle that looks ready for the party. Anyone hoping for a discreet hint of vanilla has been given fair warning by the name.

Announced on 21 October, the eau de parfum joins Yum Pistachio Gelato | 33 and Yum Boujee Marshmallow | 81 as the third fragrance in KAYALI’s Yum collection. Founder Mona Kattan connects the launch with childhood birthdays and her own earliest scent memory, vanilla. It is an inviting idea: fragrance chosen for the pleasure it promises, rather than the impression it might make across a room.

The number after the name has a specific meaning. KAYALI says 108 records the formulation modifications made before the final fragrance was settled. It is a development reference, rather than a concentration percentage or an indication of how long the scent will wear.

The brand’s published notes are an elaborate dessert menu. Lemon sugar and pink pepper appear at the opening; white caramel, coconut, sweet milk and buttercream follow. Vanilla frosting and white amber sit at the base. On paper, the citrus and spice are the details to watch. Whether they give all that sweetness enough contrast is something a skin test will have to establish. We have not tested the fragrance.

How much cake do you want?

KAYALI’s UK site currently lists the 100ml bottle at £110 and the 50ml at £80. There are two smaller options: a 10ml miniature for £28 and a 10ml travel spray for £22. For someone curious about the idea but unsure about wearing it all day, the spray makes the more modest first commitment. You are paying £6 less for the same stated volume, albeit in a different presentation.

The collectible temptation is a limited-edition 50ml bottle decorated with sprinkles, also £80. The standard bottle comes in matte cream. Choosing between the two is a question of which you would enjoy seeing on the dressing table; the decorated version is presented as a special edition of the same fragrance, rather than another scent to collect.

Timing needs a little care. The brand has announced a global launch on 30 October 2026, while its UK pre-order pages say orders will ship from 29 October. That is a dispatch date, not a promise that a parcel will arrive that day.

There is room for unabashedly sweet perfume in a grown-up fragrance wardrobe. The useful question is whether you want this particular celebration on your skin. A pretty bottle can start the attraction. It should not have to finish the argument.

UK prices and pre-order information checked on 24 October 2026. Delivery may cost extra.
