SUQQU’s holiday collection makes a persuasive visual case for putting down the predictable red lipstick and looking at purple instead. Not a theatrical purple overhaul. A gleam on the lashes, a translucent lip, or a little cool light against a brown eye. The interesting part is how little of it you might need.

Announced for the UK on 21 October, Frozen Light reaches SUQQU, Selfridges, Harrods, Liberty and Cult Beauty on Thursday 5 November. This is the forthcoming holiday collection, rather than the brand’s separate winter range, which arrived in September. If you are browsing both, check the collection and shade names rather than relying on seasonal photography alone.

The headline pieces are two Eye & Face Compacts, each combining four eyeshadows with a cheek colour. Sepia Quartz, numbered 103 KOUEI, pairs brown and beige with charcoal and a blue-pearl accent. Pink Quartz, 104 SHOUSOU, moves through coral, rose and purple. In the brand’s product photographs, the large marbled cheek pans look particularly appealing: these are palettes designed to be opened, admired and used together.

But a beautiful compact still has to earn its place. Before buying a five-pan proposition, count the shades you would actually reach for. A palette becomes less useful when its most photogenic colour is also the one you leave untouched. Anyone who already owns several brown eye palettes should pay particular attention to what the shimmer and cheek colour add, rather than treating a new arrangement as a completely new wardrobe.

The more intriguing standalone piece may be Nuance Mascara 101 Amethyst Purple. SUQQU describes it as waterproof, with gold and silver pearl, and suggests wearing it over black mascara as a topcoat. That makes the idea less intimidating: the familiar definition can stay, with colour introduced as an accent. Whether the effect is obvious or discreet on your lashes is something to judge in person, not from the gemstone language.

Three pearlescent Moisture Glaze lip colours accompany it: peach-pink, silver-flecked beige and deeper purple. These give shoppers quite different routes into the theme. The deepest option is the one to investigate if your existing makeup drawer is already well supplied with agreeable pinks. There is no obligation to make every purchase practical, but it helps to know whether you are buying a missing colour or another version of a favourite.

There is one buying detail worth keeping visible: the limited Glow Setting Powder e is shown with its case sold separately. Check the complete cost, particularly if it is a gift. Do not assume an existing SUQQU compact fits the new version without confirmation. UK prices for the holiday pieces were not published on the collection page when we checked.

Frozen Light’s appeal is its invitation to play with reflection and colour without demanding an entirely different face. Our question for the counter is simple: which single piece changes the makeup you already enjoy wearing? The answer might be purple mascara, rather than another whole palette.

UK launch information checked on 24 October 2026. This is a launch preview; we have not tested the collection.
